Scrubs are common especially when people having weddings and special occasions after that nobody even cares how their faces look! How sad:(
Guy or girl, exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and replace them with new healthy skin, which opens closed pores and prevents acne because your skin is finally breathing! Relieved huh?
That's my point, it's not just for girls... Everybody needs a little bit of fresh skin...
You don't have to use expensive scrubs/exfoliators as there are many natural ingredients you can use and look flawless:
You should have seen the look on my face when I finally realized that I did not really need to invest so much money because my groceries got my back!

Turmeric is great since it helps to reduce acne scars and remove total dead skin while honey softens your skin and removes all the dryness whilst lemon clears the skin.

How to prepare and use;
First; Mix 1/3 tablespoon , 1\2 honey and half lemon in a bowl until you get proper paste;

Making a "homemade extra everybody else's finger dipping" recipe cream is the last thing you want to make if you're going to be applying it to your face, especially since your body absorbs 60 percent of whatever you apply on your skin (and the bacteria that comes with it).
Pressed foundation. Dry powders don't hold onto bacteria the way that wet formulas do, but that doesn't mean you can't transfer bacteria from one person to another—especially if you're using a sponge to touch up areas around your mouth or eyes. The only safe way to let your girlfriend use your pressed powder, should she need to touch up her shiny forehead in a selfie emergency, is to spray the powder with an alcohol-based spray, like BeautySoClean Cosmetic Sanitizer Mist, give her a clean makeup brush to use, and have her swipe it over pressed powder once.
Powder shadows. Powder shadows are OK to let your friends use as long as you spray them down with alcohol. Don't have any handy? Don't take the risk of transferring eye germs because pink eye or another eye infection will not be a good look.

Our nails are one of the most noticeable features and you can easily know the type of a person by just looking at their nail shape and appearance, too bad many of us don't care much since we see it as a minor issue, its a very big issue that needs attention and effort to make them look smart.
Anyone can have a perfect manicure at home if you know a few manicure hacks. This easy manicure hack will make your nails flawless in a way you could ever imagined by using two ingredients that you already have inside your kitchen for whiter and stronger nails; All you need is a half lemon and half tablespoon of a baking soda.
How to prepare;
- Squeeze lemon juice into the bowl
- Mix with the baking soda to get a thick paste.
How to Use;
By using an old toothbrush, apply the paste to your nails carefully,
Leave the paste for five minutes then start brushing with a toothbrush slowly to all angles for three minutes.
Wash your hands and nails with hot water and apply essential oil of your choice.
NB; Make sure your nails are well trimmed before this process.

VALENTINE MAKEUPS
I hate to admit it but there is truth to the saying "girls care more about Valentines day than boys do". Of course it is not fully true but some what true.
We girls have a way for trying to make things special from little things that are meant to to impress... Make up being a girl's best friend is included in the "little things to make it special" list.
Like any best friend, your relationship has ups an downs and sometimes serious fights, sometimes its the eyebrow you can\t perfect and sometimes it is exactly what kind of make up are you doing?
Most people do not even understand that there are different make ups for different occassions and show up with a Gothic make up on a wedding...(are you starting to get the picture now?)
For this Valentine, I ask you for only one present and that is #NAILTHATMAKEUP
As I was a model in the photo shoot (I am suppose to get the VIP treatment) I had all my make up done for me...but i thought I should share the two make up looks that was used on me for this shoot. Basically it was a short shoot so there was no need for so many make up looks.
IF YOU FEEL VALENTINES DAY THEN THIS IS THE LOOK FOR YOU.....
The trick was in th eye shadow and the lipstick. That is what brought the "Uhh!" to the look. For both these looks we used a slightly smokey eye which by the way I have to add, most smokey eyesare one with dark eyeshadow colors however for this shoot my makeup artist (MUA) "Stacy Ferdinand" use a golden smokey eye effect for the smokey eye. She also used a cool shade of baby pink for my lipstick which sort of game me a nude look bit. I loved it every bit because for valentines, this look is be!
YOU DON'T FEEL VALENTINES? VERY WELL, KEEP READING...
Now Red is not your thing, and no way valentine is getting to you. You probably just want to carry around one red thing around just to prove a point. But like I said in my previous article, Its time for some self love.
So, You could always go "Gothic"
It does not have to be black, you could do a dark shade of maroon or even purple and do the original smokey eye in dark colors too. Do not forget your dark mascara that will add volume and length to your eyelashes.

THE LASH MAGIC WAND
In my last beauty article, I spoke of how to get long lashes. As part of that I pointed out that mascaras can actually be very helpful in that matter.
As a promise I said I would make an article on types of mascaras and the mascara anatomy "LOL" here goes nothing...

Lets start with the basics...
WHAT IS A MASCARA? So, I decided to take this part from wikipedia...
"Mascara is a cosmetic commonly used to enhance the eyelashes. It may darken, thicken, lengthen, and/or define the eyelashes. Normally in one of three forms—liquid, cake, or cream—the modern mascara product has various formulas; however, most contain the same basic components of pigments, oils, waxes, and preservatives"
From the quotation... i hope you can see there are obviously different types of mascaras with different effects on your lashes.
NOW! LET'S LOOK AT THE TYPES 😃

First thing to really keep in your consideration is to know what type of lashes you have... for example I like to think of my lashes as the sleepy type.. almost like they curl up and at a point you cant see them.
BUT DON'T YOU WORRY! the glorious days of different mascara designs are here. You should know that every wand has a different effect... once you know what are your lashes like it will be easier to know which works best for you.
But also you should understand the wand is one thing but the type of mascara is another. Or you may call it "formula"You can usually tell the type from the mascara box, (okay, before you roll your eyes i am not going to post the picture of me holding the mascara again) so you should pay close attention to what the description says.
WATERPROOF MASCARA. This you should know about, they are very common and popular. You may not pay attention to this because let me guess, your mascara is not exactly waterproof is it? THIS IS WHAT I ALWAYS TALK ABOUT PEOPLE! You need OG products otherwise you will literally give up make up (which is not exactly a bad idea).If you think you are going to be sweating a lot this is the best for you, but also if you have water works issues "Crying" this will be your best friend. LENGTHENING MASCARA
This is made for people with lashes like mine...I mean, It gives a long lash effect on you. I like to think of this mascara as an iron to my lashes. I saw an article from "Live About" follow the link below to better understand, I mean, they explained more professionally.
- "Lengthening mascaras" will have longer, less dense brushes. They'll be somewhat skinny and will coat each lash perfectly without clumping or adding much oomph. Curved wands will help curl lashes"
- VOLUME ADDING MASCARA
- This is also good for lashes like mine... listen up if you are this type. Basically you have skinny lashes...I know you know what i mean. This will be your new BFF, the bristles are basically juicy
- At one point I know you like, is it possible two have two in one... well, yes, of course.
- This mascara will help your lashes look thicker and longer all together. This is my personal favorite.
- Sure there are more types/formulas but I feel like these three are the most basic.
Now for the second part of the wand, you will also want to be careful with the brush design as you are picking:-
I LOVE Cosmopolitan, if you don't know what that is, it is a fashion magazine but it also has different on line platforms. So for this next part... I think it will be easier to share a link to the pro page that way not only can you see the formulas & brush types but you can also purchase or at least know which brands are the best to look at when you looking for your dream wand.

LONG LASH SECRETS
I like to think of myself as I got good beauty genes. I mean I look like my dad which is so awesome #Teambaba but I've got my mom's smooth beauty genes.
Growing up I never had pimples or molds or those teen beauty drama which is a big blessing.

In my short research I discovered the following to help grow your lashes,
HOPE YOU WILL FIND THE TIPS USEFUL!
- COCONUT OIL.
- Pour a bit of coconut oil in an open surface and use an eye spoolie to take a bit of the oil and apply to your lashes. Later you can decide to add a bit of Mascara if you decide.
2. SPEAKING ABOUT MASCARAS.... This is also pretty helpful. I don't think if we all understand the art of this magic wand. The use of original Mascara products is the key trust me.
My favorite type of Mascara is the "Water proof" I mean especially if you are in a hot country, like in Tanzania... you will thank me, sweat all you want, nothing is coming out baby.
I usually get skin irritation if I use fake product, maybe that is what helps me distinguish fake and OG but if you don't have that "rich girl skin for a poor girl..lol!" it could be a problem..
However, concentrate on the place you bought it from, better safe than sorry, go into a professional beauty shop (Will soon upload an article on the best beautiques you can find in Tanzania), I know finance can be a problem but trust me, once you have a set up budget for this, you won't be sorry.
One of my personal favorite Mascara brand is either Revlon and Golden Rose
What I came to realize is sometimes our lashes are all curled and coiled up, if you don't have as many lashes like myself it is almost impossible to spot the coils but onceyou start using the right mascara...You will be surprised on how long they are...
it really did perfect my lashes😉
so...having said that how do you apply your Mascara?
I personally like starting with my Coconut therapy (But I don't do it everyday so....) or at least start with brushing them first with the spoolie brush (see the brush picture above) there after apply mascara... It will be so much easier!
If the dark and colorful mascaras are a bit too much for your taste then you could always get the colorless mascaras.
HEADS UP.... It just won't be as lash darkening as with the black mascara..

In my search for better lashes I also came across an awesome article by the "Health Extremist" and I found the article very helpful...
3. Castor Oil

"I think using castor oil has worked wonders for helping to grow my eyelashes! Castor oil is used not only for increasing growth of eyelashes, but also for growing your hair and for eyebrows too! It contains beneficial antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which in combination with a rich source of nutrients aids in encouraging hair growth.
How to Use it:Make sure to use a natural and hexane-free brand of castor oil (I use this one). To use it, just wash your eye area until it is clean of any makeup or products. Then, use either your finger or a cotton swab to lightly apply the castor oil from the roots of the eyelashes to the ends of the lashes. You only need a drop or two to cover the lashes for each eye, a little goes a long way. Apply the castor oil at least a few times a week

HOW TO TAKE POWERFUL PHOTOS😏
I wanted to start with how to take cool selfies but then I realized that that is a topic you can find all over the internet. I am still learning myself but so far I feel like I am heading to the right direction. Photography is a new interest I have picked out, maybe because I have a modeling agency and I am usually the director in these shoots ( I don't believe in copy + paste posing) I prefer creativity. However dealing with different photographers that later end up annoying the hell out of me got me thinking of how the world could be if I could do photography. Hence I joined the photo club. Truth be told I love directing more than photographing but I feel like if I understood photography it would help me improve my directing skills as well. So here I am, writing a post to help you with your little personal photographing and modeling in your own photos.P.S I do not have all that many followers in my personal account (@stacyphillipo) but it means something that someone is watching my work.....
LETS BEGIN!!
1. HAVE A CONCEPT.
Don't just take your phone/camera and snap at the first tree you can sit under. I would suggest you study your environment, is there any particular feature you like? any particular idea you got running at the back of your mind?
For new year, I went to this club called tipsy with some friends and bae... and I kept seeing this one sign that kept catching my attention... alone, I capture a good image, I think I could have done better with me in it But... keep reading to see why I did not perfect this picture.

2.CHECK THE BACKGROUND
So you found a concept, check the background next. T his can be very very tricky trust me, but it can make or break your photo... so look again. Even if your picture is of you lying down, still check what your background would look like or how it will reflect on the picture.

Another very import thing. Natural light is the best because it makes your skin glow... however not all of it is good. You need either the morning light or evening light especially if you are doing an outdoor photo shoot.
So you remember how I said I screwed up in part A? here is why... the concept was fine but the lighting was a bit off. Yes not that dark pictures are not allowed but well my face was not that clear.
4. FILTER!
Since this is not exactly a pro thing, filters are your best friend. The thing to consider though is that sometimes picture look better in their natural light and form so be careful of that, check for light and shadows on your picture and how clear your image an become if you add a filter. Don't filter it just because.
5. EDIT IF YOU MUST.
This is a whole new sphere i have yet to discover i have still such baby steps when it comes to this but I can say again look for perfection. If you are using a phone application like "pics art" ( i I think it has editing tools) or if you are using an app editing tool like Instagram then it is not all that complicated, your observation is what is mostly required. Check for spots and clear them, check for contrast, brightness, shadows, highlights and things like that but again DON'T OVER DO IT. You know when you have a nice picture but you can't use it maybe because you appeared too dark or something like that? do not add brightness just so you can see your self especially if everything else in the background appears to be normal.
If you are using pro programs like photoshop, I suggest you check for tutorials as I can not give you all that much advice however. Same rules apply here too.
6. POSE POSE & POSE
This is the most important part, you need to be able to know your weak points and strength. Practice on the mirror and pose or don't pose...those picture are one of my personal favorite. Act like you don't know you have a camera on you.

NAIL TIPS WITH VANILA DAMA #SHIMII
One of the particular female (& male) qualities is beautiful nails man, I mean... your hand shake should be soft and beautiful.
However not everyone is blessed with long and beautiful nails hence more effort in keeping them is needed. A lot of accidents happen..My particular favorite worse accident is when you are putting on your tight jeans and just have to pull them up..
That, followed with making the bed and doing your laundry...
I don't think i have seen anyone love their nails as much as Vanila does..so I thought, for the love and sake of my viewers let me hit her up and give her the floor..
SHIMII: I personally think I am blessed with long and strong nails... my nails are naturally long but truth be told it is too much work... I break one nail and I have to cut off the rest.. so I decided to leave them for display and start consulting more nail tips....
NAIL KEEPING ADVICE FROM SHIMII.
Having nail tips (kucha za kubandika) doesn't make it any less stressful, the pressure is still the same and the care is still the same I can say the best part about it is not having to worry about cutting all of them off when one breaks but its all the same.
FALS: How do you manage to do your day to day activities with them so long..?
SHIMII: Honestly, i'm at that point that I can't do anything without my nails... i even type faster with them and I do my all day everyday chores and activities just as fine... You get used to it I mean, If you really want it, you'll find a way to make it work.

1. DO NOT USE FAKE NAIL POLISH.
I best advice the use of gel nail polish like 'LAVI' products it's all gel nail polish, these products use LED light to dry up and cannot just come off with a normal remover. They have a whole process which at the end helps strengthen your nails. But if you cannot afford tthem you could always opt for the normal nail polish that ususlly needs natural air and the sun to dry up. The only problem with that is that tthere are many fakes especially if you are doing them in the streets so always go with your gut or you can visit naik polish shops and stores like Sheer illusion. I cannot exactly state how you can tell if it's fake by words but you can always tell so read the signs.
2. HEAT APPLIANCE IS A BIG NOOOO!!!
Ok, I don't know which witch of the far East end came up with that theory about candle wax and fire... it destroys and corrupts your nails and how can you survive the heat? I wouldn't advice that ,if its nail strength you need I advice you use Led light or....
3. USE HENNA
Believe it or not...THIS WORKS!! I applied henna on my nails as they were growing and I can see the difference, my nails are more stronger and healthy now. So do that, apply the henna gel as normal nail polish IT WILL HELP, TRUST ME!!!
4. PROTECT YOUR NATURAL NAIL
Sometimes you can put on nail tips and they come off and it leaves a terrible layer on your nails that you have to start wondering what happened? It has happened to me before...we had to use a lot of nailpolish to get rid of that hidious layer, I won't be making that mistake ever again. So i switched to 'kucha za unga' I don't really know what they are called in english, but I say they are better because the powder somewhat protects your natural nail and even better, they actually look like your own nails . The question about the price, yes they are more expensive but worth it.
5. SACRIFICE SACRIFICE SACRIFICE
I personally do my nails at least once a week or if they are in a good condition once every two weeks.The tips can stay strong depending on how good it's glued but I change colors more. So you need to sacrifice your time and money, put uo a budget trust me it's worth it!!

And NO I don't have a specific salon I go to rather, I have a trusted person that i call over to come do my nails. This saves so much of my time.
